If possible, prioritize killing the Immaculates first since, like all mages, they're offensively strong but defensively weak. If Jahan or another mage knows Slow Current, keep Zuridraskaz slowed as much as possible to contain his damage. Try to fight one target at a time while prioritizing Zuridraskaz last. ![]() When you choose a target, regardless of what it is, go all out to kill it. Most of the orcs are more direct, and you can limit their movements with oil, fire, or poison tactically spread on the ground. The Immaculates in this fight are casters or archers and will hit you from a distance. You can see in the screenshot below that he has to start the battle standing where the Death Knight was, while you've already moved on to the right, thus wasting his first turn. This buys you a turn to get organized where he's not attacking you, which is important due to his high initiative. However, if you went right at the intersection, not only can you first-strike a couple enemies before you're spotted, you'll force Zuridraskaz to chase you around the central railings in the area. Their mini-boss is Zuridraskaz, and he hits incredibly hard. Your next encounter pits you against another group of orcs backed up by Immaculates. Given that you've already dealt with the Death Knights in groups, this one by himself should be a piece of cake.Īfter the Death Knight goes down, continue forward bearing right. Instead, wait on the steps until he comes around, and you'll engage him by himself. If you charge forward, you might trigger an encounter that the Death Knight wanders into, adding an unnecessary challenge. There is a lone patrolling Death Knight, and he walks through both of the next encounter areas. ![]() Next, walk forward onto the landing, then walk a little more forward until you're standing on the next set of steps. They have no special resistances, and are thus vulnerable to poison and fire. Otherwise, just attack the orcs as you would with any other battle. Every few rounds, Kaalgruda will summon a couple “shadows” of herself to attack you as well, but they are killed with a single shot or automatically after a couple rounds. She will lead her band of orcs against you, but this battle does not require overly special tactics. This includes the first mini-boss of the area, Kaalgruda Cloudpiercer. If you're lucky, you'll just have to fight the Slayers alone, but it will probably trigger an encounter with the four enemies behind them as well. Try to hit them with a solid attack before the battle proper engages. Two Dread Orc Slayers stand at the top the stairs, and it's unlikely they'll spot you at first. If you're in the right place, you'll pass under a different log bridge, and you'll stand on a large blood pool in the middle of an intersection.įrom the blood pool, go east up the hill and you'll come to a short road that meets some stone stairs. Go south across the log bridge, bear southwest at the fork, then continue going south. ![]() Consider quick-saving before and after every encounter.įor the easiest approach to the temple entrance, teleport to the Phantom Forest North Waypoint Portal. Regardless of the order however, you'll want to defeat all the enemies. There are a few different ways you can approach the entrance to the Source Temple, and your specific path will change the order of the enemy encounters. Consider activating it before moving forward. There is another Waypoint Portal in the northern section of the swamp, and that Waypoint Portal may be closer. The Source Temple and the path to it are north of the swamp and east of the Phantom Forest North Waypoint Portal. Consider retreating back to a city after every other encounter to repair your weapons and armor you don't want to be in the middle of one of these fights when your equipment breaks. There are a lot of enemies along the way, and each encounter features a minor boss. If you handled the Death Knight patrols, it's time to start the gauntlet toward the Source Temple. It's unlikely your mages will be targeted, especially if you use your front-line fighters to block the way. Physical attacks are all they can do, and they also tend to attack whichever of your party members is physically closest. ![]() However, as you fight them, it'll become easier and easier as you get used to the technique. The first time you have the fight, it may feel a little intimidating.
